Embed a card of the counts

A card shows the counts of one country or region, with the source, and a link to the full page.

Last checked against the UCDP pages:

A card shows the events and the estimated deaths that UCDP records, for the last 12 months and for the latest complete month. You can put a card on any page free of charge.

Which cards there are

  • A card for each of the 40 countries that search engines list (25 events or more in the last 12 months). It shows five counts, with the deaths of civilians.
  • A card for each of the 133 regions that search engines list (30 events or more). It shows four counts.

The page of each of these countries and regions has the code of its card, under "Cite and download".

How to put a card on a page

Copy the code into the HTML of your page. This is the code of the card for Ukraine:

<iframe src="https://conflictstats.com/embed/country/ukraine/" title="Ukraine: events and estimated deaths" width="100%" height="380" style="border:0;max-width:640px" loading="lazy"></iframe>
<p style="margin:4px 0 0;font-size:13px"><a href="https://conflictstats.com/country/ukraine/">Ukraine: events and estimated deaths</a>, from conflictstats.com</p>

Example cards: Ukraine, Donetsk oblast, Ukraine.

Terms

  • A card is free. You do not need to ask.
  • Keep the link to this site in the card, and do not change the figures.
  • Keep the link line under the card. It links to the full page of the figures.
  • A card changes when UCDP releases new data. To keep the figures of one date, cite the page and its data date instead.
  • A figure from Candidate Events carries the mark P. UCDP has not reviewed these events, and it revises them.
  • A card has no advertising and no analytics. The site does not count the people who see it.

A count of events is not a measure of danger. How the figures are made gives the periods and the source of each count. Data sources and licences gives the citation that UCDP asks for.
