In January 2025, UCDP recorded 163 organized-violence events in DR Congo, with 4,517 estimated deaths. That is +104% compared with 80 events the month before. The death toll range is 4,381 to 17,712.
58% of the month's events were state-based armed conflict. Civilian deaths: 1,235.
Events were concentrated in Nord Kivu province (118), Ituri province (26), Sud Kivu province (13).
The most active pairing was Government of DR Congo (Zaire) - AFC with 89 events.
