UCDP recorded 83 events of organized violence in Ethiopia in August 2025. The best estimate of deaths in these events is 308. The low estimate is 245 and the high estimate is 1,606. UCDP counts 62 of these deaths as deaths of civilians. The count for July 2025 was 80 events.

The count for August 2024 was 29 events. The change from August 2024 to August 2025 is up 186 percent. Among the 26 months with a report for Ethiopia, August 2025 has the 15th highest count of events.
