Ethiopia: conflict events in July 2026

In July 2026, UCDP recorded 54 organized-violence events in Ethiopia, with 231 estimated deaths. That is -19% compared with 67 events the month before. The death toll range is 140 to 580.

83% of the month's events were state-based armed conflict. Civilian deaths: 20.

Events were concentrated in Amhara state (39), Oromiya state (11), South Ethiopia regional state (1).

The most active pairing was Government of Ethiopia - Fano with 41 events.
