In August 2025, UCDP recorded 69 organized-violence events in Nigeria, with 262 estimated deaths. That is about the same as the previous month (67). The death toll range is 236 to 279.
42% of the month's events were state-based armed conflict. Civilian deaths: 76.
Events were concentrated in Borno state (25), Benue state (16), Plateau state (6).
The most active pairing was Government of Nigeria - IS with 23 events.
